I'm translating a manual into Spanish, and I'm really having trouble understanding the following:

"To replace battery, remove front cover and extract battery. Replace with 9 Volt alkaline or similar rechargeable battery, taking care that the battery is inserted correctly. This unit is designed to be used with batteries only, and can not be operated from a line-powered battery charger."

Line-powered battery charger? Wtf?

So. I understand that the device can be used with rechargeable batteries if necessary, but the "line-powered battery charger" part, umm I don't get it. If anyone could tell me the difference between a regular charger and a line-powered one, I would really appreciated. thanks

  1. Most camcorders, provide a power adaptor that can be used to operate your device while it is attached to line power.

Line powered battery chargers also provide AC current (needed to charge the battery) and not DC.

IN nay case, just use 9V batteries.

  2. oh, maybe you can have a look at Batterylink.us, there are some battery tips
