  1. Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate and MSG, is a sodium salt of the non-essential amino acid glutamic acid. It is used as a food additive and is commonly marketed as a flavour enhancer

Its bad for your body if consume for long term

  2. it is a preservative that makes food stay bright in color without fading it causes cancer allergies joint pain headaches ..its bad stuff you dont want it

  3. Ajinomoto! Used here in the US by the gallon in prepared foods. Also used around the world here and there. Health nuts go crazy about it, but, really, it's impossible to avoid in it's entirety. If you find a recipe calling for it, make it that was first. You're right. You might just like it. It's an additive, not cyanide poison, after all.

  4. MonoSodium Glutamate, a flavor enhancer.  Many people are allergic to it, as I am.  It is frequently found in Asian recipes.

  5. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese food, canned vegetables, soups and processed meats.

  6. Monosodium Glutamate:  it's a synthetic flavor enhancer

  7. monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer which works by enlarging the taste buds so that whatever you are eating tastes better , you are more sensitive, so the taste is stronger

it also gives things a slight smoky flavor and yes a lot of people react very strongly, some with hives, some with itching and some with diarrhea.
