  1. ice cubes

  2. Tapas is the main thing which is small portions that are shared

I would go with paella and veal

Also hit up some sea food. & ham....

O and try it with sangria

  3. paella (rice with meat and seafood)

    spanish omelette (potato, onion, egg)

    cocido (chickpeas)

    gazpacho (cold tomato soup)

    chorizo (sausage)

really everything is worth the taste, just let your stomach enjoy itself

  4. Go to Segovia and have their delicacy which is suckling pig. My favourite is to go to the beach and have freshly caught sardines cooked (sin sal) on an open fire.

I have gazpacho as a drink everyday of the week.

  5. PAIELLA

  6. shrimp.

  7. el puerco es el plato de vosostros tradicional

  8. Empanada

    Tortilla

    Paella

    Gazpacho

    Patatas Bravas

Chorizo (eaten many different ways I love bocadillo con chorizo and choriza a la sidra)

    Calamares Fritos

Seafood is especially good in Spain

    Fabada

    Revueltos

    Cocido Madrileno

    Croquetas

    Arroz con Leche

    Flan

Don't forget to drink a coffee in the morning (cafe con leche with pan tostado or un pastel) Also AMAZING.

Every region in Spain specializes in certain foods. So depending on where you are in spain changes the recommendation. For example, in Madrid it's harder to find good empanada - but in Northern Spain it's awesome! So helps to know where your going!

  9. bull balls folad in seasoning

  10. Paella and Sangria

  11. French fries

  12. su_juanluis has a good list, as has noname49.  Conoco's suggestion of suckling pig, which can also be found in Madrid, is great, too.  Every region has its specialties.

My only addition would be that the chocolate (both in confiterías and the drinkable) are excellent.  The drink MUST be enjoyed with churros at least once.  And as for the eatables:  my favorite, and you must try, are the trufas heladas.  They are available at most confiterías and pastelerías, but the two places I can recommend are  a place on the Puerta del Sol in Madrid, called La Mallorqueña, across from the famous Tío Pepe billboard, and in Sevilla, La Campana, my hands down favorite pastelería in the world.  (ok, my experience is somewhat limited, but it's really good and historic and pretty).  It's at the far end of c/Sierpes from the Cathedral (I always get turned around which is north and south).   Also, an heladería in Sevilla, called Las Rayas, near the Palacio de las Dueñas, and any ice cream shop along the Ramblas in Barcelona.

Oh!  and you should try horchata anywhere along the Coast from Valencia to France.  They spell it differently in different regions, but its an almond milk drink.  I was surprised, because I had had it out of a powder once and wasn't impressed, but the real stuff is wonderful!

Whoever keeps saying to drink Sangria is out there!!  That is just garbage can punch!  nobody who knows what they're doing will drink the stuff.  Have a nice glass of tinto with your meal, or a cruzcampo, or a Tío Pepe!  Forget that stuff they only make for tourists.
