What is a Masters in Public Health?

What is the purpose of this degree? What type of Classes would it involve? What type of prerequisites would I have to take (my ugrad is in business)? Would it be beneficial for a lawyer to have this degree? Why or Why not?

A masters degree in public health is a degree that encompasses several disciplines related to the study of health within communities and populations. Yes, I have one of these, and I use it.

In public health, you take courses in health policy, cultural health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health behavior theory, and so forth. Usually there are no pre-reqs for MPH programs. You just have to meet a minimum GPA and GRE score and have good letters of rec and personal essay.

I think a MPH could be good for a lawyer if you see yourself working in health policy or medical ethics.
