  1. Motor Mounts are what actually connects your engine to the frame of the car.  They are usually fairly easy to change depending on the make/model of your car.  It is best to take it to a shop and have them change them for you if you don't know what you are doing.  If one of your motor mounts is bad, they are just replaced.

  2. It is exactly what it says a metal piece with rubber that the engine is mounted to. Usually an engine has 3 of them and the only fix is to replace it with a new one.

  3. It's, usually two steel plates with a hard rubber sandwich bonded between them. One plate is bolted to the motor. The other plate is bolted to the car's frame. The purpose is to hold the engine in place but let it move slightly to reduce vibration. When they age the rubber debonds or tears and the mount has to be replaced.
