Why would someone have to go to a multi-district class?

Isn't it if they are on drugs or something?

  1. It would be for an extremely specialized class.  I guess it could be used for drug users, etc but mostly it's where a district or two decide to pool their resources and send students with low-incidence (aka rare) disabilities to one particular classroom.  This cuts down on the number of classrooms needed to fully support students with rare disabilities.

One might see this in a rural area for students with multiple disabilities -  profound mental retardation, physical disabilities, hearing/vision problems, autism, etc (problems all present in one child) - could be an example of a child who would be put into one of these classrooms.
