  1. A member of the German national Socialist Party who committed war crimes, I guess?!

  2. There are several categories:

SS Guards at the camps that ran like children as Gen. Patton's Divisions approached, did not survive the executions by Russian POW's were all culpable to the murders in the camps.

The Officers and Government Officials that ordered those killings.

The others that looked the other way.

Sympathizers in occupied countries that aided such activities.

Go to the Holocaust Museum site and see their handy work. I visited twice in 1996.

I also had first hand stories from my Dad, my grandmothers cousin and one survivor (this guy did not elaborate but did share a bit).

My Dad was in the 80th Infantry Division. They liberated Buchenwald on 13 Apr 1945 and a sub camp in Austria in early May. He was all over that camp putting in field phones. My grandmothers cousin Ruth Jordan was married to a British Journalist, Philip Jordan. They were in n**i Germany before the war and she smuggled out films he took of some early Jewish ghettos.

In the 27 months I lived in Germany while in the Army I only met 1 that may have had something to do with the genocide. He was an SS Officer, could prove it but claimed he was a tanker only. All the others were like Sgt. Shutlz in "Hogans Hero's"...they knew nothing.

I also had a "Quisling" in the family. He escaped to Argentina. Just type "Quisling" on the search line for an explanation of Norway during the war.
