  1. If you've ever had a continental breakfast - the french is most like that...

Hot Chocolate - drank out of bowls!

Pastries - croissants, pain au chocolate.

    Dairy - yogurt, cheese.

Meats - selection of colds meats, usually red.

However because you're asking for a Parisian b'fast, im sure you would find a few fresh macaroons - yum!

Its very nice - but no english fry-up!

I will simply say, some coffee, most of the time only coffee (without milk), called "petit noir", but sometimes you can replace it by café au lait (milk added), sometimes called "noisette de lait". You may have a hot tea or hot chocolate instead, and add a glass of orange juice.

Then you can have some bread (baguette) with butter and jam, or honey, and some viennoiseries (croissants, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins, brioche, chouquettes).

  3. Most typically, they eat a roll or some bread with butter or jam, and café au lait, as described above (man, I LOVE the coffee in Europe!  Even the espresso shops, so ubiquitous these days, just don't compare!)  and I always had a croissant, which, if I remember correctly, cost a few cents more than an ordinary roll, because I had always heard that was what they eat.

Just don't be a fool and go into Starbucks!   Get your breakfast at the little corner café.  You'll do best there.

  4. Breakfast in france is usually something sweet like a pastry.

A full breakfast involves french bread and authentic french cheeses.

At least thats what i ate when i spent a week there lol...

    cheers

  5. scrambled goose heart, with side of chicken feet topped with veal moisture

  6. Hi, I agree with the answers above, but, me,

I am thinking that a "parisian breakfast" is "un petit noir" et un croissant.

Many people have not a breakfast at home, only a cup of cafe, later, at their Office, they have more. It's a problem for the doctors who say that the best meal in the morning is almost unknowned in our country, same for the children and teens, at 11 am many people are tired, productivity is low. In the future, I hope better, in the companies, we give dietetic lessons, women and men understood it well if they don't want be overweight.

I agree, the typical would be hot chocolate or cafe, with milk or no, and a piece of good bread "baguette" butter and jam.

  7. black coffee sometimes along with a cigarette.

  8. Parisians generally have a very simple breakfast consisting of just cafe au lait, which is strong coffee mixed half and half with hot milk, and some bread with butter and/or jam. Hot chocolate may substitute for the coffee and instead of the simple piece of bread there may be a croissant or a sweet roll called a Viennois.

Walk into any cafe in the morning and ask for "cafe complet" and that is probably what you will be served.

Orange juice and yoghurt are also sometimes part of breakfast.

Meats and cheeses as are mentioned above are found mainly in hotel buffets for tourists.
