I think you mean "paedophile" who is someone (an adult) who is sexually attracted to children.

a petafile is anyone whose seeks out those under the age of 18 for sexual acts, although there have been people convited of being a petafile for having s*x with an underage person even though it was consentual, for example an 18 year old woman who is dating a 17 year old man can be considered a petafile

A pedophile is any adult who has s*x with a child. Plain and simple. It can become very cloudy when applied to the real world, but that is the direct definition. For instance 35yr with a 10yr old.
