  1. It's a STANDARD (i.e. not First) class OPEN (i.e. no restrictions on what train or time you can use it on) SINGLE (one-way) ticket.

    Open single tickets are valid for use only on the date printed on them, usually the day the ticket is bought, though you can ask the station ticket office to date it for a few days in the future if you're buying it in advance. You can break your journey (i.e. leave a railway station) somewhere in the middle of your journey.

    Open return tickets are valid for one month from the date of issue - you don't need to start your journey on the date printed on it.
