  1. Death, if it has an "after" or a "next" world, must involve a shift in consciousness, and may be no stranger than waking up from a dream, or, as William Blake said, than stepping from one room into another. It is in this sense that the "next" world, if there is one, must be very near.check the link please

  2. A type of panties.

  3. The more common term is walk-in.  The premise behind this concept is that one soul departs from the body and another takes its place.  According to those who have written on this subject, the original owner of the body leaves it for one of the following reasons:  he has accomplished his goals for this lifetime and is ready to move on; he is not progressing or has become stagnant or depressed and wants to vacate the body; or he offers his body to a higher entity to use to fulfill some higher purpose.

Several books have been written on this subject.  One I'd suggest reading is WALK INS by Karyn Mitchell.  Below are a few links that highlight the book.

  4. that's what my daddy called panties. step-ins.

  5. I'm not into mythology.  So this answer most likely will

have nothing at all to do with your question.

In the 1930,s and 40,s the older men called women"s

panties  "step-ins. They were the ones with longer

legs.   Not what your looking for? At least now you have

    one more meaning.

  6. The last answer on here reminds me of that movie "Regarding Henry" with Harrison Ford in it.

He was a horrible man (cheating on his wife, horrible lawyer, horrible father) then he is shot and I believe he went into a coma. Once he wakes up he is a "changed man" for the better. I'm not sure that this Step-In concept was what the writer or director of the movie had in mind but the whole concept is fascinating.

    Bright Blessings!

  7. There's not much I know on this subject, unfortunately, and I don't remeber where I read it from.

    But anyways:

Step-in is a situation when a person's spirit is called back to its original "home" and another spirit steps into his body. This sometimes happens when a person has reached his limit, would prefer to cut his life short and return home. Sometimes he attempts suicide, or is involved in a serious accident as a result of which he may be clinically dead for a while. After recuperation, everybody notices a change in him: they say that he's a "changed man". Usually he gets very active in humanitarian work, teaching, spiritual work and seems to have endless energy for that. The explanation I read was that another spirit, wishing to have a period of accelerated spiritual growth, without the trouble of having to be a child and youngster,  is given a chance to replace a person who is tired and would rather end his existence in this world and return home. Of course the step-in gets to use the other person's memory but has no emotional attachment to his past, including the people in it. This is also noticed by his friends and family, saying that he is like a stranger to them and they don't recognise him any more. Marriages and friendships may disintegrate as this new person now has other goals in life.

How to recognise a step-in? Basically, the person has to be a real loser before his accident, and a star afterwards. If he was more or less an average person who just got extra zest for living after his near-death experience ... then this is not it.

(I have also seen the word step-in in the context of alien abductions where an alien entity hijacks an Earther's body. This topic has been used in many science fiction movies. )

  8. Also called "full jumpers" or maybe "fall jumpers" depending on whether you read these forums - About: paranormal, Unexplained Mysteries, Proxy w***e Refuge, Evilrains forum, and I think there is a  Semicircle mystery forum as well.  Tied up with John Palifox Key, Micronations and Joey LeGuay.  By the time you have got to the bottom of that  heap of bulldust you will be blinking.
