What is a TA? (car)?

Someone told me they had a TA but I'm not sure what it is!!!!!!!!

Trans/Am. Or Pontiac Firebird Trans/Am.

Named after the SCCA Trans/Am racing series from the late 60's and early 70's. It's short for Trans American.

The popularity of the Racing series created alot of names for car's that competed back then like the Camaro "Z/28", "Boss" Mustang and "AAR" 'Cuda to name a few. Pontiac named there Firebird Racer after the whole dang series.
