What is a W2, Without benefits mean..?

I was offered a great contract job with a good chance of being hired after but it was offered as $$ on W2 without benifits. What does that mean?

They will pay you an hourly rate, classify you as an employee, but you get NO benefits.

If it's on a W-2, then it isn't really a contract job, it's a job as an employee.  They'll take out taxes, and pay the employer taxes.

Without benefits means just that - no vacation or other paid time off, no health insurance, no other benefits.

"Without benefits" means no group insurance and probably no vacation or paid sick time.
