What is a am/fm cassette receiver w/ cd changer controls?

can it or can it not play cds? I'm getting my 1st car 2morrow it's a 2002 dodge neon ES...I read a reveiw of the car that says it has this

it means you can have an external (separate) cd changer hooked to the in dash receiver and control it from the receiver.  If it is a factory deck then it will have the cd changer installed, if it is an aftermarket deck your odds aren't so good.

sounds like its a two in one cd player with a tape deck  they do make those so thats what is is most likely

it means the stereo has am/fm and casset player, and the ability to control a cd changer, usually in the trunk or under the seat.  It can play cds, but only if it has the cd changer attachment.  ask the person who is selling it if it has one, or if its a dealer have them put one in for you and work that into the price negotiation.
