Um, seriously, I have no idea what you're talking about.

There are thousands of species of lizards, perhaps you're thinking of one of them. They vary greatly in size and shape - the smallest is the size of your fingernail, while the largest is several feet long.

There are also salamanders and newts, which look a bit like lizards.

A Tuatara?  

The tuatara is an amniote of the family Sphenodontidae, endemic to New Zealand. The two species of tuatara are the only surviving members of the Sphenodontians which flourished around 200 million years ago,[1] and are in the genus Sphenodon. Tuatara resemble lizards, but are equally related to lizards and snakes.

The tuatara is one of the few reptiles with a true voice. But it usually only croaks when fighting with another tuatara. Tuataras mostly use "body talk." For example, when one tuatara nods at another, it's a signal that the nodder is a "she."

The tuatara has been classified as an endangered species since 1895[3][4] (the second species, S. guntheri, was not recognised until 1989).[2] Tuatara, like many of New Zealand's native animals, are threatened by habitat loss and the introduced Polynesian Rat (Rattus exulans). They were extinct on the mainland, with the remaining populations confined to 32 offshore islands,[5] until the first mainland release into the heavily fenced and monitored Karori Wildlife Sanctuary in 2005.[6]

is it a Geko?i dunno.but um if you have a picture maybe you could ask people.or go to a pet store and ask?those are some things you can do.
