What is a average rate to pay a drywall finisher?

I need someone to come in and do all the finishing (taping & mudding)

How do I lknow if i am getting a good price? So far not one qoute I got is even close to the next, they are all very different in price.

  1. Depending on where you live, $20-$25.00 per hour is the going rate.

    You should be able to get them to bid on the whole job, which might be a better deal for you. Make sure you are getting free estimates and the same thing in all bids. You may want to make certain your drywall guy is insured as well.


  2. I enclosed a garage that is 20x20, I had the ceiling and 2 of the walls and a closet taped and textured and round corner bead for $300, he provided the mud and corners. I found the guy on craigslist.org and he did a beautiful job. Or you could go to an area where construction is going on and maybe find a drywaller there who would do side jobs.
