  2. KD is right but, unfortunately for the banana, it is now pan-tropical.  Fortunately for the banana, on the other hand, it does not reproduce from seed so consuming the fruit does not interfere with propagation.  It doesn't need a defense against losing its fruit.

  4. It's original tactic was to grow in eastern Asia and parts of Australasia.  This enabled it to thoroughly evade predation from chimpanzees, which happen to be natives of Africa.
