  1. First, I assume you mean between the U.S. and Mexico, right? I ask because the official name of Mexico is Estados Unidos Mexicanos - or United Mexican States, not "Democratic Republic..."

OK... but to answer your question, I'd go with A. The United States is dominated by two political parties.

Until recently, Mexico was dominated by one party - the PRI (which is the Spanish acronym for the Institutional Revolutionary Party). The PRI lost the presidential election for the first time in more than 70 years in 2000 when Vicente Fox of the PAN (National Action Party) won. The current president is also a PANista, but he barely beat a rival from the PRD (the Revolutionary Democratic Party).

The PAN (conservative, pro-business) and the PRD (leftist) and the PRI (populist and struggling to redefine itself) are the three most powerful parties, but there are a lot of smaller parties out there too.

  2. The main difference is that the democratic republic of Mexico is the form of government that exists in the country of Mexico and the United States is a group of 48 states primarily encompassing the northern part of north America and includes Alaska and Hawaii as well for a total of 50.

  3. No one is left there, they are all up here. Will the last one out of Mexico, please turn out the light.

  4. I believe a is the correct answer.  They used to be dominated by one party, but not any more.  I believe all the legislators are elected.
