  1. syrian hamsters. i know they are noctural but they are more loving. dwarfs are usually more skittish and they are so small, that some dont like to be held. syrian hamsters do sleep during the day but it works out for me because of school and homework, she waked up at about 6:00. so  it gives me enough time to play with her, before i go to bed. i would defiently recommend a syrian hamster

ps. syrian hamsters are the larger breesds

  2. a Dwarf Hamster that is what I have had and still have.

  3. There is NONE!!! RATS are the way to go man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. The Wichita Mountain Hamster is by far the most amazing hamster breed of all.  Although rare, the Wichita Mountain Hamster or as it is more commonly known the "Hillbilly Hammy" is about fourteen times the size of a regular hamster but extremely friendly.  In fact, one case of the hillbilly had the hamster giving a back massage to an owner who was overly stressed.  But most notably, the hillbilly hamster is nature's engineer.  They often craft rocking chairs and dining sets in their spare time.

  5. if your a beginner than you should get a syrain you should ( u don't have to) dwarfs are better because you could have alot in one cage you can't have more then one syrain together

  6. I think its syrian hamsters because they are easy to handle and even know they some times sleep in the day they do wake up at around 6:30pm they love climbing up there wired cage and its fun to watch they also love playing and there good for children's first hamsters.

  7. It depends on what you want.

Syrian are big, cuddly and the most popular. They are reccomended for first time owners.

Dwarfs are most entertaining to watch their quick antics, but not so much for cuddling.

    Dwarf Types-

Robos are the fastest, no way for letting out to run, you'll lose them in a split second but they are so cute...

Chinese are very sweet w\but have long tails which some people don't like.

Winter Wihtes are like Russian dwarfs except they change colours.

Russian dwarfs are small and sweet and the second most common type. They are fun to watch and cuddle.

  8. Dwarf hamsters are up during the day.  They are much cuter and fun to watch and play with.  The angora hamsters and other bigger breeds are antisocial and nocturnal, so they sleep all day (boring) and run in their wheels all night (which is h**l if you have a squeeky wheel)

  9. I agree.

  10. Here's some information about each breed which I hope you will help you:

Winter white dwarf russian hamster: These hamsters are fairly outgoing, fond of exerciseing, prone to vocalising. Grows to a length of 8 cms (3 inches)

No difference in temperament between male and female, though if you want more then 1 males are the best choice as females tend to be more prone to fighting. They have a more equable temperament when being handled then Campbell dwarfs but aren't a good choice for young children.

Campbell dwarf russian hamsterThey are curious and outgoing, they spend alot of time exerciseing and exploring. Campbells are quick and may nip when being held, if held for to long. A good natured Campbell is loving though so it does depend on the individual nature. (same as winter whites)

There is no difference regarding male and females for temperament, same as the winter whites males tend to be better in pairs. Diabetes is known to exist in both the campbells and winter whites, so it is best to not feed them to many sugery treats. Campbells grow to about 10 cms (4 inches)

Roborovski: Very unlikely to bite but they are VERY fast, some don't tolerate handling. Can be kept in groups (you can keep more then two). They grow to max of 4 to 5 cms (1.5 to 2 inches). Both males and females are happy together.

Chinese hamster: They grow to 8 cms (3 inches), they are mouse like in appearence having longer noses and not having that chubby look, but they are still very sweet. They can be very shy, so you need alot of patients. they love tunneling and climbling. (my chinese hamster loves her wheel)they can be kept in pairs, again males seem happier together. (some people are put off by the male as he has prominent male parts), the female though is very sweet, if you prefer to only have one for fear of fighting they are happy alone, for as long as they have plenty to do.

    I hope this has helped.

  11. Um, I'm not sure.  It probably tells on Wikihow.  You better check.

  12. It depends what you want them for. Dwarf hamsters tend to bite much more than sireans, and dwaf hamsters are VERY fast. Dwarf hamsters are more for looks. Sireans on the other hand, are friendlyer, so if you want a hamster to play with and snuggle, I would get a teddy bear hamster.

  14. Dwarf because they are smaller.

  15. Whichever attacks on cue.

And also rides on your shoulder :)
