  1. Get a used civic or corrolla. Best mpg out of the gate. You can then convert it to a hybrid and double the mpg.

  2. I guess you should also compare insurance quotes for these 3 cars before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org

    I would prefer Honda.

  3. imports. my vote is for toyota i currently drive a 91 toyota celica. it gets decent gas milage, very reliable, but not so much in the aftermarket stuff, but thats ok. 17 years old stock=cool retro

  4. I have a newer Si and love my car...I have a lot of aftermarket parts on my car and Ill tell you that they were not cheap.  If you want something done right and for it to actually improve the car you are going to have to pay more for it.  Most of my parts are all JDM parts that I have gotten from Japan.  Japanese cars are much easier to modify b/c of the simple fact that everyone in the US has jumped on the band wagon.  Honestly  Id take a 240 in a heart beat.  There is a lot that you can do to them as far as mods are concerned and they are good cars.  Another car you might want to consider is a Acura Integra...you can get a GSR for pretty cheap depending on where you are.

I would stay away from a focus tho.  Honestly how much are you going to be able to do to it.  If it was a mustang I could understand but a focus is a waste of time and energy imo...

  5. My 94 Civic has 187K miles and still runs like new.  I still get 41 MPG.  It is rock solid dependable (I drove it last year NYC to Chicago and back- 1600 miles in 2 day).

The after market parts are plenty and cheap.

If I had to sell it, it would not get more than few grands.

    Just a FYI...

    Good Luck...
