Question:

What is a better career...Chef or Video Editor.?

I was looking into both careers. Chefs have a lot of job openings and are expected to obviously grow because restaurants are expected to grow as well as population

Video editors have a very low job expectancy but they pay about 80k starting once you get a good job.

I was just wondering which would be a better choice and also if either of them is a good choice in a career, IN GENERAL.

Thanks

  1. What's more important is asking yourself which job will give you greater satisfaction in the long run. Your earnings are important but if you don't enjoy what you're doing then you'll burn out sooner rather than later.

  2. Do you like food?  If you like food and like running around all day in a kitchen, then cooking might be your calling.

But, if you are like most people, like to sit on your behind looking at videos all day, then that may be your ticket.

Both have great futures.  People always have to eat and they always have to be entertained.  Sometimes both at the same time.

  3. Chef. People will always have to eat but they don't always need to see a movie. However, one of my friends is actually doing both and he is very good at both jobs, too.

  4. Sorry, I don't know much about video-editing, but ...

I DO know that if "chef" is the right career for you, you will be passionate about food and food-presentation, you will have a good head for business (yeah, there's a lot of money-management involved ... people-management, too!), and you will be willing to work LONG hours.  And, you will love every minute of it.

There's money in it, for sure, but it's grueling work.  It's also very satisfying.  It can take some time to "arrive" as a chef, but once you're there, you are golden.

  5. its very simple

if ur passionate about cooking then cooking without a doubt

cooking is one of the hardest jobs to do, long hours, S****y pay, rare dayz off, hectic environment, very stressful and few brakes

but if ur passionate nothing will stop u, i just became a cullinary trainee at wynn las vegas, im only 18 and making $18/h, but its definately more rewarding in the long run

DONT GET INTO COOKING IF U DONT LOVE IT, BECAUSE WHEN ITS JUST A JOB, U WONT ADVANCE AND GET STUCK IN A RUT

if all u care about is money then video editing is for u, (i assume) but when ur about to die...which one will u be more proud of?

i kno what my choice was....

    good luk
