What is a better gear to start in?

What gear is better to start in on a typical dirt motocross start 1st or neutral?

dont start in neutral nor  frist starting scond so you dont shift and end up in neutral

neutral? if you start in neutral, you will be last into the first corner. It depends on how you have your bike set up. Most of the top pros like James Stewart, Andrew Short and the rest typically start off in 2nd gear. I have heard that some even start in 3rd.......

You would never start in Neutral or first gear.  In Neutral by the time you got it into gear everyone would be gone and in first by the time you are just moving you would need to change. Always start in 2nd gear.  That is why the riders usually have their revvs up on the start line as they are not starting in first gear.  One top pro here in Australia even suggested that the riders start in 3rd gear but my sons prefer 2nd.  

The only time you may start in Neutral would be if it was a cold start.
