  1. rats are the 1 to get they sit on ur shoulder and evrything mice just run gerbils scits and i think guinea pigs are noisey unless they outside rat isthe best 1

  2. um a lot of people are in to rats and i am a exotic animal lover but i would say a rat they are easy to care for but if you get one i would get two so they don't get lonely and that goes with the mouse and the gerbil 2

if you want the gerbils you should get 2 boys or 2 girls

or you will get 12 litters a year and there are enough animals in the world and they are not like the animals that love to hang out they want to explore

    mouse are easy

  3. Guinea pigs are darling lap pets, but they are similar to rabbits in that they die at the slightest provocation.  They're infamous for getting sick and then just sort of giving up.  So if you aren't prepared to take extra precautions with your pet's health or if you don't think you could stand the heartbreak, you might want to steer clear.

I've had mice before; they're cute but skittish and (I feel) harder to socialize than some other options.  Plus they can be a bit bitey.

Rats are my favorite option.  They're adorable, sweet-natured, and very sociable.  They warm up to people very quickly.  I've never had a rat bite me, not once.  They're smart too.  The only downside is that they stink up their cages pretty quickly.  You need to keep a rat's cage very clean because they are extremely prone to respiratory infections.  They are also prone to tumors (they have about an 87% chance of developing one within the first two years of life) and these can be expensive to remove...though often they are benign growths anyway.  If you decide to go with rats, make sure to get more than one.  Like I said, they're very social, so an "only child" will get very lonely!

  4. I know a lot of people like rats but I would never have one as a pet.  I think they can be temperamental and bite at times.  They also really smell and on the average only live around three years.  Hamsters are also temperamental and prefer to be left alone.  Never pair hamsters together.  They also live around three years.  Gerbils are neat.  They are really friendly and social but don't like to be handled a lot.  They are very curious though and are really fun to watch.  They also live around three years.  My vote goes to guinea pigs as the best pet.  They are so sweet and friendly.  I have never had one bite.  They are so great.  They do best in pairs.  They are skittish at first but you just have to earn they trust.  They live five to eight years.  The love to be held for hours and hours.  They are my favorite of all the rodents.  You do need to clean their cage and change their bedding weekly and just removed the soiled bedding daily.  They are a little more work than hamsters and gerbils but I think that it is so worth it.

  5. get a guinea pig there cute cuddly and only need baths once every 2 months

  6. Rats are the closest pet to a dog. That is a fact check it on the internet.

  7. Short-haired guinea pigs don't need much maintenance besides, making sure he has hard things to chew and gnaw down his teeth, a bath every month or so, and trim nails. Guinea pigs live a lot longer then mice, rats, or gerbils too. I like rat's personalities better but, sadly they don't live long. Tops two years or so. Good luck.

  8. well i like hamsters most but guinea pigs are good to they are cute and fluffy if you get a teddy bear guinea pig

  9. rats, Rats, RATS!

They are lovley creatures and are kind by nature...If you do get a rat, here are a few thing ur rat will deff need!

    ~ a large cage

~ another rat 2 play with ( at least 2 rats cuz if u dont have 2 rats it will become depresed no matter how much u play with it)

    ~Toys

~bedding material (shreeded tisues are good and cheap too!)

Floor material (i wouldnt recomend wood shavings as the tiny dust in it will iratate ur rats eyes and nose, thus maiking it sneeze ad more prone to respiratory disese so i would recomend wood-based cat litter not made from pine tho!)

Here is a little info about the s*x of the rat

Male~ Male rats are laid-back and calmer than female rats, and will gladly sit in your lap. BUT, they mark places with a few drops of urine, this might put u off! ( by places, i mean places inside the cage! =p)

Females~ females are always active, and are hyper! they come into heat ( when they can breed) about every 14 days, so unless you want loads of babys, i would recomend the same s*x pairs!

Vets~ you will have to find a specilist vet 4 ur rats, as not many vets are specilised 2 take care 4 rats as they r 2 small!

Tumors + cancers~ unfortunatly, rats have a high chance of dying from cancers + tumors, this is because of how they were tested upon in the labs and its in all rats genes. If you do get rats, and ur rat(s) get a tumor or cancer, it would be the kinist thing to put it to sleep =[

    Mice-

    Bad things:

    They stink

They arnt as inteligent as rats

    N many more, but i 4got =[

    Good things -

They arnt as likly to die from a tumor or cancer.

They dont need a big cage

They dont need 2 be sozilised as much with.

But my personal preference is RATS!

Good luck with your rodent hunting!

    Hope this helps!

  10. well with the things like less likely to bight and like other people and stuff i would actually say a rat. they are very sweet, fun, funny, and smart. they usually won't bite unless threatend and are good with kids and other people! they aren't to much mantnence, you should clean the cage about once a week, of course it would always need food and water, and to be played with and taken out of it's cage everday for probably aoubt 30mins or so.

  11. rats are too big

    get a guinea pig

  12. 2 fancy rats would be very soical and like you.  idk about least maintance.  mice might be ok.  a guinea pig would be ok too.  idk, 2 gebils could work too...

  13. you could get a rabbit they are very quiet and very cutie i have one . in order to have them not to bit you sit with them and hold them and let them run around and have fun. also, they might scratch you but if you keep their nails trimmed and keep things calm they will be good
