I'm torn between a rat or rabbit.I find them both very cute and friendly. But I need a pet that's easy to work with I really am in to magic so I need a pet that is easy to handle, gental and and quite. Also just for having one I want it to be playfull and cuddley. They dont have to be really active but I dont want something that just sits there, and is it true that you can take a rabbit on a walk?

What is also less time to train and care for.Where is the best place to buy them if it helps I live in Oklahoma and really close to texas.

Thanks for reading sorry it quite long.

  1. well i think all pets need loving and time

umm about the rabbit walking, i have two new zealand whites (rabbits)

and i took my oldest one, Jamison, on a walk.

but he just sat in one spot and ate grass

    then ran to another x]

hes soooo cute though so i didnt mind

but it just depends on the personality of the pet that you happen to get, not what animal the pet is

    hope it helps

and good luck with your new pet!

  2. Neither of them are good if you don't have time to spend with them.

Rats are VERY social and need to be out with you for at least an hour every day. They are very intelligent and easy to train

Rabbits are a little more solitary, but not nearly as easy to train or as calm as rats are (rats aren't exactly calm, they are just easier to handle).

Both of them require time. If you want an animal to sit in your lap and not take up time, buy a rock

  3. prejudiced against rats so i would say rabbit.  i used to have one that i walked with a harness (not a collar) on a leash. people would stop and stare and ask what was wrong with my dog! they can also be litter box trained.

  4. hmm well both pets need lots of care i prefer a rabbit i took my guinee pig for a walk tons of times before i got a dog i had to get rid of him sadly .anyway rabbits are the best of my choice

If possible i need points to get to lvl 2 if allowed best answer please

  5. Well I see everyone here has voted for the rabbit.  I love bunnies.  They are lovely, cute, fun, smart and yes, can sometimes-be-walked-on-a-leash pet.

But you mention time, and a pet that's easy to work with.  Bunnies can be box trained yes, but it takes more patience and work than it does to litter train a kitten.  Bunnies take time to care for.  Simple fact.  A bunny has a fairly good life span and  will be with you about an average of 10 to 12 years or so. I imagine because you said you're into magic that the picture of the traditional magician and his rabbit-in-a-hat came into everyone's mind.  If you do opt for the bunny,  please promise me that you'll never, never, never pick him/her up by the ears!  This is so painful for a bunny and I cringe whenever I see a magician pull his rabbit out of the hat this way.

Rats.  I love rats too.  They ARE easy to care for.  They need a clean cage, water and food.  The rest of what they need is you.  They like attention. They are affectionate, smart, clean and ( I hate to say this but ) they are a very forgiving pet. They can (and do) eat just about anything. They are very hardy little guys, easily trained.  And, while walking one on a leash is possible - they do sell little harnesses for them - even more fun is having one on your shoulder wherever you go. Or maybe your pocket, under your hat? The point is, they are very adaptable to whatever time you have to give them (daily ).  I AM assuming, of course that we're not talking about neglect.  In that case, I'd recommend a pet rock.  But with the description of what you're looking for, a pet rat would be just the thing. You can find pet rats for sale at just about any pet store.  Downsides; if he's to be part of a magic act, he/she would do it very well, but not all people think they are cute like they do the bunnies. And they live only 3-ish years or so.  Sorry for giving such a long answer. Good luck with your choice. :D
