The prompt is: What behavior in a teacher really bothers you?

I'm trying to say: "In Composition I, my first college English course, my teacher talked down to all of the students in the classroom and I found it very disrespectful."

What is a better, more "college-like" way to say he treated us like children and made us feel dumb?
