  1. 07 Mets, they had a 7 game lead, lost a lot of games in a row, and lost the 7 game lead in a week!

  2. Im a mets fan and i hate talking about collapses especially since were in september now

  3. nobody ever mentions that the 7 game lead with 17 left was the biggest lead in the division the mets had the enitre year.  It just so happened that the mets had a 2 game lead 5 days prior to the seven game lead when the mets had a 5 game win streak and phillies a 5 game losing streak.  SO THE METS HAD A 2 GAME LEAD WITH 22 GAMES TO GO.  Why dont you ever see that headline.

  4. 1964 Phillies is more bigger but people say 2007 mets are because the 64 Phils are more in the past the 07 Mets but 64 Phils are way bigger

  5. The Met's 07' collapse was bigger then the 64' Phillies collapse beacuse even if the Met's and the Phillies tied for first  it would have been 6-6 (TIE) between them in the regular season, meaning that there would have been a 1 game playoff at Shea. Now , why would it have been at Shea beacuse the mets out scored the Phillies in the 6 ga

  6. 2007 Mets. How do you lose a 7 game lead in two weeks? Plus, almost all of the games were at home!

  7. As a Met fan I would say the Mets collapse is bigger because the Cardinals went on to win the World Series so the Phillies lost to a better team.  Even though the Mets let a 7 game lead go in 17 games we all know what the Phillies did in the playoffs.  So that alone makes me think that the Mets collapse was worse, the 64' Cardinals were better than the Phillies, but the 07' Phillies IMO were not better than the Mets.

  8. 64 Phils because they had less games left and a 6 game lead.

  9. The 1964 Phillies was a huge collapse. They had a 6 /12 game lead, and lost 10 in a row. Gene Mauch, the manager, screwed up the rotation when he used Chris Short on 2 days rest, and they never recovered.

  10. The 1964 Phillies were actually 6 1/2 games out when the collapse began but whose counting?  I would say the yes, the '64 Phillies was the greater collapse because not only did they blow the lead, they ended up in third place as well, (based on a tie breaker via head to head games against the Reds).  The Cardinals won and eventually went on to beat the Yankees in the World Series.
