  1. Biological interactions are sometimes called biotic interspecific relations and include symbiotic relationships such as commensalism or mutualism and so on. An example would be a bird nesting in a hole in a tree or a lichen which is a fungus joined with a photosynthetic partner such as green algae or cyanobacteria.
