What is the difference between a blue ray disc and a dvd. Which is better and what does a blue ray disc look like? And what is it

Blu Ray is the latest generation of disc technology. Blu Ray discs have capacities of up to 50GB(DVD maxes out at 8.4GB) and can display  1080P(highest definition available to consumers today) and also supports high definition audio. Blu Ray discs have the exact same dimensions as a regular dvd. You need a blu ray disc player to play blu ray discs(ie: a PS3) and all blu ray discs players can play standard dvds and CDs as well. And it is called blu ray because the players use a blue laser diode to read the disc(standard dvd players use a red laser diode). Basically if you want the ultimate HD experience... blu ray is a must.
