What is a boxing blue?

If someone had won a boxing blue at Cambridge University in England, say in the 1930's, what would that mean? Is it equivalent to winning a varsity letter in America, or is there some type of championship involved? What is the system? Thanks...

they are given to Cambridge and Oxford students mostly but some other universities too  for competing at the highest level in sport
