i'm going to uc irvine and i want to know which kind of car would be able to handle a long 6 hours drive from my hometown to school.

    Just about EVERY car can handle that kind of drive.  I have a 94 Civic with 187K miles and I drove it from NYC to Chicago and back in 2 days (800 miles one way / 1600 miles round trip / 12 hours one way STRAIGHT).

    EASILY.

    The only requirement is that the cars should be in good condition / maintenance.

  2. Don't buy a Yugo !

    thats an easy drive,any dependable car could it.

    the only real hill is the grape vine and you can miss that by driving the 101 home.

  3. ya a honda civic would be a good bet, but any car that is maintained well should easily make it
