What is a brisket? (meat)

I saw the Brisket on the t.v. but i dont know what type of meat it is

beef brisket is kinda like a roast but to me its kinda shredded in the way it falls apart

if you take a beef brisket and put it in boiling water for a couple of hours it becomes what  you know as corned beef ,or you can put it in oven and when done put it in bbq sauce and eat it like that
