I am a 17yr old student studying a BTEC National Diploma in Music Technolgy and have one year left on my course then i would like to move to LA and finish my study to progress on with my carreer but im not sure what use a BND would be to me in the USA and what other USA qualifactions i would need to get a good job. Also if anyone can explain to me about what sort of visa i would need and if anyone has an idea of what the overall cost of my actions would be. Thanks. Answers are much much appreciated.

  1. I dont know if you can get a job with a BTEC in the usa but it could proberly get you into uni in LA am not sure. If you want go uni in la with the btec then arrange an interview with the uni explain to them what type of qulification it is and they may accept you. I think your better of staying in the uk and go uni in the uk,and then when you finish uni with your degrees then get a job in la.

  2. Your BTEC won't count for anything really. To get a work visa for the US you need at least a Bachelors, better still a Masters degree as well as experience in your field. Do the best you can on your course and then look at getting good work experience at home then see id you can upgrade to a degree. Once you are experienced and known in your field you will have a chance of getting a visa to work in the US.
