  1. Hey, you don't have to have money to have a butlers pantry, a lot of large older homes had them.  It is a room, well, actually most of the time it is a large room type passage way that leads to another room from the kitchen, to usually the dining room.  (Some are just like big pantries.)  The have storage room for groceries, and some have a small bar or counterspace for keeping electric appliances.  They are really cool for the storage.

  2. In the old days the pantry was an entirely different room of the house sometimes not even in the house, where grain and other foods were stored. In the Kitchen was a smaller room sometimes just the size of a reach-in closet. This was the butlers pantry.

Today it is a fancy term for what we would consider a pantry.

It doesn't necessarily mean it is a walk-in pantry but thats usually the case.

  3. What a passive aggressive way for you to brag about how much money your family has.

Think about it, it's not hard.

    What's a pantry?

Now put it together. If you don't know, I'm sure you can afford a dictionary with all your cash.

  4. The pantry is often identified by the contents stored in the space. In larger homes that employ a staff of domestics, the butler's pantry would often include space for trays and other common household items that the butler would use in the performance of his duties. A baking pantry would house various types of flour, sugar, oil, and other dry goods were essential to the baking process. A collection of wines intended for use with meals would be stored in a wine pantry.
