What is a call center and what do they do and how do you get paid and where do you apply?

I have sen a lot of questions about call centers read the answers I am a retired American who lives in the philippines and it sounded like a good job if you can get it so I wanted to find out more

A lot of companies in the US outsource their call centers to the Philippines, so there should be a lot of opportunities.  However they are mostly in Manilia, so it depends where you live.  Also, there are many many applicants for each opening.  You would have an advantage assuming you have not lost the ability to communicate effectively in English.  I used to work for a company that outsourced two hundred call center jobs to Manilia and we had a couple of thousand appliants for those positions.  So the competition is quite fierce.  Best of luck to you.
