If you go for this here's a brief run-down of what to expect.

You will be working in the European Alps, usually Switzerland, Austria or France Occaisionally Scandiavia.

Your job is to take care of the guests in the Chalet, usually between 4 and 8 of them. You get up early and prepare breakfast for your guests, Once they depart for a days skiing you clean the chalet, make the beds and ensure you have all you need for the evening meal on your guests return. You are expected to do all the cooking. If your guests choose to eat out you get the eveing off, They may what a drink when they eventually return, it's your job to make sure their needs are met. You will need to ask them at the start of their say what their preferences are.

You may be asked to prepare a packed lunch as well.

You may be asked to book taxi's arrange tickets for evening entertainment as required.

When it snows you have to ensure there is still access to the chalet.

Once the chores are taken care of you get to play, ski if you wish, but you must be back at the chalet before your guests.

The pay is not good but guests are often generous with their tips. Usually you get one day off a week. Chalet girls sometimes cover for each other if the work load is not to high. Some guests are a joy to work for, others a real pain.

Basically your a paid slave. A working knowledge of a modern European language is a great asset.

it's like someone who works inside, kind of like a cook, or maid, or nanny...there's a good series out called Chalet girls by Emily Franklin about these girls who work at a ski resort they all have different duties (hostest, cook, cleaner) but they are all chalet girls
