Hello,

I really want to buy a house outside London. I would like a house for roughly £140,000/ £130,000 . London is just too much for me, a Flat alone would cost about the same. I am looking for a nice two bedroom house in an area where there's decent shops, restaurants etc but at the same time I want somewhere where it's not too far from London maybe 1.5 hours from London.

ANY areas I can look into would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen great deals in Bristol but it's too far; roughly 3 hours.

Now what kind of areas do you guys recommend?

  1. Try the Medway Towns. Prices there always seem much lower than the rest of the South-East.

  2. hate to tell you what you probably don't want to hear, but you won't get a house for that kind of money any where near London. Probably not even in the South East of England, where the property prices are the highest in the uk. That kind of cash gets you a 1 or 2 bed flat.

areas you can consider which might me more affordable, are Essex which are about 1 to 2 hours from central london depending on where and also mode of transport.

UK property prices are on the way down so if you hang on longer, the prices will be cheaper, and also the pound will be weaker
