I don't have any rugs in my house, I mostly want a vacuum for getting pet hair off the couch, so the hose attachment is necessary. Any ideas?

  1. Get a Kirby at a pawnshop, they are awesome vacuums and will last forever. Orecks are good too. Bissel, and Eureka will last a year or 2 and the stupid filters cost 60% of the purchase price.

  2. There is one on tv. I forgot what it is called, but it is foldable.

  3. I got a small one at wal mart for $40.00. It's a bissel wind tunnel type & works great.

  4. I have personally never been impressed with upright vacuums.  Yeah, I know things like power brooms are light weight and very small, but they just don't seem to get it.

We have a house full of hardwood.  My favorite is a Kenmore canister vac that I've owned for something like 20 years.  Sears still sells them (one of the few places to buy a canister); updated and sleeker looking but still pretty much the same vacuum.  It's got very good suction, everything is done with the hose and wand, and replacing the bag is a snap.  We have two dogs and this vac does a fine job picking up hair.

  5. eureka mighty mite.......small enough to carry as you vacuum,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not great on rugs, great on everything else..............

google shopping eureka to find it

  6. Ideally Panasonic Upright Vacuum Cleaners are best for removing pet hair they are light and easy to maneuver and last a long time and are very reliable any vacuum dealer sells these vacuums for a low price

Another idea for cleaning pet hair off of furniture is to moisten a sponge with water do not saturate sponge and rub downward on the furniture this will remove the pet hair like magic Good Luck !
