What is a cheap place in St Louis to have a surprise birthday party for adults?

My friends and I want to have a surprise party for our friend and we know we want it on May 3. So, that doesn't leave us much time. We want to possibly rent a room, but we don't want to spend too much money. We also want to keep it small so like 20 people and under probably. Any ideas? Thanks!

  1. Lots of hotels downtown have restaurants in them.  You could use that as an excuse.

  2. The arch thingy.

  3. Grbic Restaurant

    4071 Keokuk St

    St Louis, MO 63116-3513

    Phone: (314) 772-3100

  4. Do any of you live in a condo or subdivision with a clubhouse?  My condo rents our clubhouse to owners (not renters) for about $25.  You have to clean it up, and there's not a kitchen to cook, but there are tables and chairs and stuff.

Maybe a local VFW.  Sometimes churches will rent a room for a party.  You don't mention what part of St. Louis.  That would make a big difference on suggestions.

  5. If all you're looking for is a room try the Holiday Inn Six Flags, they have very nice rooms for parties, and if you party too hard, you can just get a room!  They also have a hospitality suite that has a master bedroom, a second story loft with 2 queen size beds, a kitchen, family room, fire place, and it's in a secluded area of the hotel away from all other rooms!  Most people don't even know about it, but it's great for a group of 20-30 and they could probably cater for you too if you wanted.  I would expect the room to be around $200 but I'm not sure.  Or if you DO need food, the Pasta House (although not very original) has a room to rent and they have party menus that are reasonably priced at around $10 a person.

  6. Old Rock House just south of stadium has some cool spaces for small parties and the rental amounts were fairly reasonable.  Most hotels etc. will require you to buy food and beverages from them if you rent event space (as oppossed to a room).

  7. Try Dave and Buster's, off Earth City Expressway.

  8. Depends on your age....

Last birthday party I went to was in a room in Pietros on Watson...

  9. i agree Dave and Buster's

  10. Dave and Buster's is a good choice .....

    Weekends are more crowded......
