I always use farecast.com or kayak.com.  Farecast was great, because it tells you when prices might be going up or down.  We used their predictions to get a round trip ticket from LA to Orlando, FL for $231.  A few days later, it was more than double that, and it was nearly $400 a few days before.  Go figure.
