  1. Jokes are not usually in this section, but IMO  all of them are when it comes to what they pay their help, none when it comes to what they charge for their amenities.   Beside the jokes, if you want a less expensive resort, find a smaller resort near medium size towns. There are many regional resorts that rely on local skiers for their clientele. Some are in Washington and Idaho, Do some research for the resorts in your intended destination. Good luck.

  2. There aren't alot

  3. Killington? LMAO!!!

There is no easy way to answer this. You can find a good deal at almost every major US resort if you want to dig around to find it. WHEN you ski has just as much to do with WHERE you ski. Your chances of finding a good deal anywhere on the major holiday weeks are slim. If that's the only time you can ski, then be prepared to take it in the wallet. If you can hold out until after Presidents' Day week, then you'll be able to find killer deals just about anywhere.

Advanced purchases, Ski & Stay packages, and multi-day passes are a great way to save some moolah. Bigger resorts will usually slash some prices when you buy in bulk or late in the season. However, some smaller resorts will have a lower fixed price all season long and give no discounts at all. (Bromley VT is a good example...$25 all day-every day.)

The bottom line is a deal can be found just about anyplace/anytime, but you have to be willing to do some research. If I really wanted to ski Alta in mid February I could probably find a way to do it for less than $40 a day. But it takes some work and some planning.

Sorry I can't give you specifics. I'm not going to spend the afternoon comparing prices and looking for deals. That's something I will leave to you.
