What is a cheap way to display our sandal give-away for our guests?

We are giving away sandals at our upcoming beach wedding with approximately 100 guests. What is the best way to display them for our guests when they arrive? We thought a trunk would be nice but i'm not sure if that could be rented? Any suggestions?

  1. Get a cardboard box, and cover it in beach themed shelf paper (wal-mart) or wedding gift wrap.  Put it close to where people will go down onto the beach.  If it's not a separated venue make sure you have someone there watching the shoes.

    Congrats & best wishes.

  2. That's so COOL!!!

You may want to get ribbons or some pretty wires and and fix up a personalised card for each guest.

  3. Lay them out on a beach blanket or beach towels with a beach umbrella, sand toys, a beach ball, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.

    as props.

  4. Well everybody has coolers, or needs for one, I would get some coolers, and put a colorful beachy looking piece of material on the inside of it to make it look nice and put the sandals in that.

Everyone takes coolers to the beach, and maybe put the coolers on top of a blanket and put an umbrella over it.

With so many sandals it might be difficult though.

You could also put one on each seat with a flower tied to it with ribbon, or put baskets at the end of each aisle.

  5. It depends on how formal your wedding is. You could do a nice-looking wicker basket (maybe tied with a few white ribbons), or a painted wooden crate. If your wedding is pretty casual, what about one of those big plastic tubs that people put beach stuff in? Or a large cooler (not with drinks in it, of course!).

  6. What about asking them to show up in sandals instead? Maybe you could put something on the invitations about it, and even ask your photographer to take pics of everyone's feet with their unique sandals, or give a prize for the most original flip-flop.

You could also keep with the beach theme and make something out of an old surfboard or boat on the sand, and fill it with the sandals and the table assignments and other decorations. It should be pretty easy to find an old boat you can make look pretty.

  8. How about a large wicker basket?  That would look nice in the sand.

  9. How about a low sided box made out of a cheap wooden bottom and the sides of driftwood from the beach? For that matter go to a store and ask for a wooden pallet (many will give you it for free) and use the bottom of the pallet for your box. Another thought would be for that pallet would be to tie the sandals (I am assuming flip flops so tuck one end in to the other) together with ribbons and then stick one end through the slats to have them standing up in the box. Paint the pallet whatever color you'd like that coordinates with your colors.

  10. If you have any bookshleves at home or want to go and buy some cheap shoe racks you could display them on those. Alos since it is on a beach your could put them on a beach chair or under a beach umbrella. My best advice is just work with your surroundings. good Luck!

  11. If it's a beach wedding, try laying out some beach grass or bamboo poles  on the ground and place the sandles on it. Put some seashells on it too. Or give them away as the recieving line gifts.
