  1. 1) south America...however over there they don't call it chili..

    2) with beans

    3) good meat , great taste( balance of spices)  and saltiness, thick sauce.

    4) it is not an authentic America food.. it is made famous by the south American immigrate ,, who cook this food that can be eaten over several days with very little ingredient ( don't forget that they were poor people back then) ... the cowboys made this famous as this meal could travel and be eaten within a short time and they added meat inside to give them more energy...

  2. Chili's are peppers and they grow all over the world.  A good chili has flavor as well as heat.  They are not considered authentic American food.  The hottest,(and smallest), chili's come from Thailand.

  3. Many styles of chili are considered authentic American food, regardless of where they may have originated. Cincinati "five way" chili is served on thick spaghetti with onions, kidney beans, and cheddar cheese, in Cincinati, of course.

  4. 1. On March 9, 1731, a group of sixteen families (56 persons) arrived from the Canary Islands at Bexar, the villa of San Fernando de Béxar (now know as the city of San Antonio).  They had emigrated to Texas from the Spanish Canary Islands by order of King Philip V. of Spain. The King of Spain felt that colonization would help cement Spanish claims to the region and block France's westward expansion from Louisiana. These families founded San Antonio’s first civil government which became the first municipality in the Spanish province of Texas. According to historians, the women made a spicy “Spanish” stew that is similar to chili.

The chili itself is meat (traditionally ground or shredded beef, however healthier versions include chicken or turkey) along with chili powder and other spices of your choice (garlic, onion, salt).

Most people add beans to their chili and don't feel the need to call it "chili with beans" however commercial chili or restaurants may specify if it has beans. Many people like chili over spaghetti -sans beans. Chili Fries are a popular American dish, which has no beans. Chili burgers, no beans.

A good chili has ground beef, garlic, onion, chili powder and pinto or kidney beans. Chili with beans and corn bread is a quintessential Texas meal.
