  1. A co-enzyme is an organic molecule which combines with an enzyme, allowing it to work. In the absence of the corresponding co-enzyme, a given enzyme may not work properly, or stop functioning completely. What the co-enzyme does is transfers a particular chemical group to the enzyme in question, which makes the enzyme work correctly.

Co-enzymes may work in conjunction with vitamins too...for example, Vitamin K's co-enzyme is menaquinone, while that of Vitamin B9 is tetrahydrofolic acid.

    Hope this helps ;)

  2. it's an organic thing that combines with the enzyme so that the enzyme can start working. if the coenzyme is unorganic like metals its name is cofactor.
