I was just wondering what some of you thought about this question. For Psychology I think when a person hears the word psychology they instantly think about people with many difficulties in their lives when really its a scientific study of thought and behaviour. Am i wrong?

  1. You're not entirely wrong i mean you defined psychology in some ways. However some people confuse Anthropology with archeology and I sometimes get confused between sociology and psychology! Good luck though!

  2. People often confuse Anthropology with Archeology, Sociology with Psychology and Psychology with Psychiatry.

  3. Because these are not exacting sciences where all information leads to exacting & reproducable results, most in my field (engineering) do not consider them true sciences. However, they fail to take into account that Astronomy falls into that category too. When I was young we were taught about the 9 moons of Jupiter... we simply had not discovered the other moons of Jupiter & Saturn at that time.

As more discoveries are made a science becomes more exacting & definable.  While much remains to be discovered in the fields you mention, they are indeed sciences but still in the exciting discovery stage.  I suspect all branches of science will intertwine in the near future as they borrow technology from other sciences.
