What is a company's policy on medical benefits if I work in Germany?

Do you have any website in English that I can refer to? How do i ensure that i am reasonably covered and compensated in event of sickness? Is it important to show prove of absence of work due to sickness (medical chit or certificate). What if I am in need of an operation?

This is a rather broad question seeing as how each companies policies could be different, you need to contact the company itself and ask them what the policies are.

In Germany you can chose your health insurance company and the company you work for will pay half of the dues I think.

You have to show prove of absence when unable to go to work but you can get it from your doctor.
