  1. Broad heads are actually really cheap and can be picked up at wal-mart or similar stores. When you get into good tips that is when things become pricey

  2. Cabelas has just about everything you would need, Read the reviews.

  3. my favorite broadheads are the rapter tallen crimson.  i have shot lots of different kinds of heads and these are the best. these heads can be used again and again. ive pulled out plenty of broken mechanical broadheads out of deer. another plus is if you miss and your arrow goes in the dirt u can sharpen and reuse. great product!!

  4. im going to say muzzy, they are proven to be one of the better fixed blade broadheads, and they arent too expensive either

  5. Muzzy.....and no need to go expensive, just buy extra blades.  I don't know your draw length, but I would say you'll be looking for 75 to 100 grains.  Rather than re-sharpening, just replace the blades so that they are RAZOR sharp.  Since you're new to bow hunting, you'll need to practice, practice, practice.  Being able to shoot the exact broadhead matched to the same shaft will give you optimum results.  I number each arrow and record flight patterns.  Sometimes you'll get lucky and switch broadheads and shafts that weren't flying the best, and you'll find a better combination.  (arrow number 4 has taken my last two deer :) )

  6. muzzy is your best bet.  either 3 or 4 blades will work and they run about 35.99 for six heads compared to 32.99 for the rage which only come in three packs.  hey good luck

  7. At this point in life, money is a factor for you, so this advice is geared for you personally.- Go to wal-mart and get a Three pack of the cheapest two blade heads they have- If the two blade head is not available, get the three blade head in 100 grain weight. Next find out if baiting for deer is legal in your area- if so, then put out corn next to a deer trail and make a ground blind in the bushes about 20 yards from the corn- make the blind out of natural materials in your area such as bushes, limbs, moss, anything that you can hide behind- when the deer comes to the bait, wait until he has his head down feeding or looking the other way before standing and drawing- take the shot when the deer is broadside-aim about 4 inches behind the shoulder of the deer about half way up his body. If baiting is not legal, find an acorn tree that the deer are feeding on and do the same setup. Also you can find road crossings and creek crossings that you can use the same type of setup on- try to see which way the wind is blowing before taking a stand- you do not want your scent to be blowing toward the deer. Congratulations on becoming a bow hunter- you are going to love it- never give up- success will come to those that are persistent.! Good luck!
