  1. anything that isn't white. nothing refined. like white bread or white pasta. that is bad. no donutes or anything like that.

    some examples of complex carbs are whole grain wheat bread, oatmeal, brown rice, whole grain pasta. anything whole grain. there are complex carbs in fruit as well.

    you should eat complex carbs b/c they are healthier. they have all the vitamins and minerals you should have out of a grain. refined carbs are lacking in vitamins and minerals. complex carbs fill you up, they have a lot more fiber. and they don't cause insulin spikes in your blood like simple carbs do. simple carbs are addictive and they make you hungrier quicker and cause you to store more fat. simple carbs can cause type 2 diabetes.


  2. complex carbs are harder to digest and break down, like oatmeal, fruits, veggies, they are good for you because they have high fiber too.  Simple carbs are the easily digested and easily absorbed and will produce fat faster....things like sugars and white breads/pastas
