Did you know there are over 500 new boardgames that come out every year? There are many conventions regarding boardgames held around the world. The biggest ones are the Nuremberg Toy Fair and Essen. Both are in Germany.

As for me, my favourites are Tikal, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, Coloretto among many others.

So hot it's not even retail packaged yet.  SWARM is a strategy game for 2 or more players depending upon which of the collectible boards you choose to play.  The only chance involved is whether or not your opponents will catch your blunders before you can correct them.  This is the chess-like but not anything like chess game for multiple players for which everyone has been looking for years.  Check out the links below.  We just held our first real tournaments this last weekend.

The new versions of monopoly and life look pretty good.  My all time favorite board game is Clue.  I like all the versions I've tried.  The classic version, the travel version, Clue Museum Caper and Clue Master Detective.

If you have 5 to 10 people... Try "PIT" the stock exchange simulated game... very simple rules (trade and collect all of the same suite)

Well if you want to excercise your brain then you should play chees, as in chess you can easily find challengers and tournaments!!!!

Here are a list of my favorite cool new board Games:

MONOPOLY:ELECTRONIC BANKING EDITION. It is fun to play without having to deal with all of the money. You just swipe your card and it keeps track of it all. Clean up is a lot easier than regular monopoly to!

CATCH PHRASE. Not really a board game but fun with a lot of people. There is a little contraption you pass around with a word on it, and you have to pass it around the table. When it is your turn you must describe the word. If you have to thing when the buzzer goes off it is a point for the other team.

LCR: i am not sure if this is new or not but definiteley the best family game i have ever played. There are 3 Dice, and each dice contains one side 'L' one side 'R' and one side 'C' the other sides are little black dots. Every person puts 3 quarters (or dollars for more serious gamers) in front of them. You take turns rolling the dice, if you roll an L and two dots, you pass a quarter to the person to the left of you, and keep two. If you roll a C it goes into the pot. The last person with coins wins the pot. (If you only have 2 coins only roll 2 dice, and if you have 4 coins just roll 3 dice)
