My son is 16 and one of his teachers nominated him for a really neat program called "People to People". It was established over 50 years ago by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was given letters of reccomendation by coaches and other faculty members and now he has been invited to participate in a once in a life time experience as a student ambassador to Japan for the summer of 2008. As you can imagine this is quite costly and we are a low income family. If anyone has a creative way for us to raise THE MONEY I would appreciate any ideas. thanks www.studentambassadors.org

  1. i was in a people to people program 2 years ago

    it was HORRIBLE

they lost EVERYONE's luggage, the hotels were the worst hotels EVER, we say a total of 3 tourist attractions (we were in england and in 9 days all we say was big ben [from half a mile away], Stonehenge, and the crown jewels).

i recommend NOT doing the trip

it was the biggest waste of my life ever

  2. Well, one creative way to raise money is start a pyramid scheme tricking old ladies into giving up there life savings to invest in your company and then having them do the same thing to other people until you have enough money.

    Thats one way....

  3. 16? ambassador?

I have lived abroad for about...most of my adult life. And study abroad programs are pretty fun but are you sure your son is going for that reason.(I didn't, when I studied abroad at 15) But that's all beside the point, I'm not sure if it's possible but teaching English is a highly profitable job. Or you could do it the way any student  does  it loans...
