What exactly do you use it for, and is it the same as a rice pot? I'm Asian, and my family uses a rice pot. We only use it for rice. Are they the same thing? They sure look the same.

  1. its a slow cooker u can just put your food in in the morning and leave it.then eat at diner. its really hard to burn food in it. food comes out very tender too

  2. They are not the same thing... A crock pot is also known as a slow cooker.  It will not make rice as it does not get hot enough to boil.  A rice cooker or steamer is usually made out of metal.  The crock pot is made of ceramic.

  3. a crock pot is a rice cooker. its basically the same thing. :)

  4. I don't know if it is the same, I don't have a rice pot.  A crock pot has a ceramic crock inside the heating device.  I have one that has a removable crock and I can use it as a deep fryer.  The crock pot slowly cooks your food.  Usually you put the meat and ingredients in in the morning and it is ready in the evening for dinner.

  5. It's an electric slow cooker.  It works differently than the rice cooker because it cooks soooo slowly.  Most crock pots have two settings: low which cooks over 8 hours time and high which cooks over 4 hours.

  6. its kinda like a casserole dish made out of crockery. you can put food in it and stick it in the oven for hours on a slow heat. great for slow cooked lamb shanks etc. i hope i explained that well enough
